I don’t know her, but would you pray for her?

Jane Marchevsky is a young woman who not long ago sang her own song on America’s Got Talent. She has a dream, a beautiful voice and spirit with a body full of cancer. Her enthusiasm and energy touched my heart. She recently announced her health was deteriorating and bowed out of the competition to focus her energy on healing. Would you mind sending a prayer and/or love to Jane to help her realize her dream? Let’s help her concentrate on her future, I know that she would be grateful for your support.

Thank you.

When was the last time you played? The positive effects of play for adults

Of all of the personal development or self-help activities we can engage in, fun and play are probably the most underused and disregarded. Contrary to what people think, adults aren’t being lazy or thoughtless when we turn our attention to activities that are recreational and entertaining, we’re tapping into one of the greatest resources for our overall health.

For many adults, letting go of being serious and focused on adult responsibilities isn’t easy or in the forefront of importance. I promise anyone who incorporates play into their life on a regular basis will be much better prepared to handle whatever issues come your way.

Along with the emotional benefits, there are a variety of health benefits by adding play into your life. According to helpguide.com, play:

  • Relieves stress
  • Improves brain function
  • Stimulates the mind and boosts creativity
  • Improves relationships and your connections to others
  • Keeps you feeling young and energetic
  • Helps develop and improve social skills
  • Teaches cooperation with others
  • Heals emotional wounds
  • Boosts innovation

Jack Canfield, author of Chicken Soup for the Soul books, Entrepreneur, Motivational Speaker and Corporate Trainer shares his thoughts on the positive effects of fun and play.

For many years I allowed the seriousness of my responsibilities to control my way of being. Then the opportunity arose to make a significant change in my life away from the considerable and weighty issues I had to deal with. During that transition, I felt the need to liberate myself and embrace playfulness and the wonder of life, be curious and have fun. Now, I don’t think twice about being spontaneous and having fun. I’ve created a sense of harmony and balance by injecting play into my life, no matter what’s going on around me, I am always sure to incorporate laughter and enjoyment into my day.

Imagine a billion people pushing for play time, not in a frivolous way or a way that negates progress, but in a way that supplements and allows us to make even more progress. It’s time to put play back into our lives. Jared Keller

According to Dr. Stuart Brown, a play researcher and psychiatrist out of CA, adult play may actually increase our intellect.

“Of all animal species, humans are the biggest players of all. We are built to play and built through play. Most obviously, it is intensely pleasurable. It energizes and enlivens us. It eases our burdens.”

Here are some innovative ideas for you to pick and choose from that incorporates play into your everyday life.

make play a part of your day – from Genuisofplay.com

  • Use unscheduled time to be creative, to daydream, reflect and decompress
  • Appreciate playtime – whether it’s alone or with other adults or children
  • Smile and laugh often throughout the day
  • Try new things and experience the unexpected
  • Participate in a variety of arts/sports/activities whenever you can to expand your horizons
  • Make mental connections (e.g., “how else can I use this,” “what else can this do?”)
  • Sing and dance just for the fun of it
  • Spend time with the children in your life, observing them as they play, listening to their conversation, and following their train of thought
  • Cultivate a happy, joyful, positive attitude, full of gratitude for even the smallest, everyday things
  • Plan to make play part of your day, whether it is indoor or outdoor, solo or social, active or quiet

Finally, the human experience is spiritual, play is spiritual. Play is a time when we take a break from thinking, essentially connecting with all that is. It’s a great way to relax and enjoy life and move away from the grind of work and the pressures of everyday life. Laughter and play are necessary parts of life and a time to reflect on all of the things that make us happy to be alive.

It’s never too late to have a happy childhood.” ~ Wayne Dyer

The Universe (the real Secret); How to Make it Work for You

No one knows something that the rest of us don’t. There are plenty of books and teachings that offer the misguided idea that there is a secret or unknown process that only they know for you to manifest everything you want from great financial gain to the perfect life mate. Every one of us has the same abilities, the real secret is to become aware of your life and then work with the Universe to make the changes that will move you forward.

The Universe/God isn’t associated with a specific religion, spiritual organization or special people, it just is and it helps us align with our path through all of our life experiences. It is available to everyone all of the time and in its divine perfection provides everything we need, no matter who we are or where we live.

Working with the Universe isn’t about forcing a situation or people nor is it about sitting and waiting for the world to come to us.  It is about being aware when the time is right, taking guided action and seizing the right opportunity when it appears. When we allow the outcome to be whatever it is, the Universe will bring the right solutions and people at the perfect time.

Have faith and believe that the Universe/God is always supporting us, things happen when we least expect them to, there is a divine time for everything. Accept your life as it is, allow the Universe/God to create the perfect situation and I promise you’ll be surprised.

I cannot count the times the Universe has surprised me. I felt stuck, I didn’t know what to do or how to move forward when everything began to happen and what I needed flowed to me exactly as it should.  My most recent experience with the miracles of the Universe happened when I wanted to move to a new location. Being mindful made it easy for me to notice the signs, the energy and the way things were going to prepare me.

How to work with the ways of the Universe to create your own magic:

  • Be appreciative for what you do have, that is the foundation for opening life’s doors for you
  • Take time to be still, your heart always knows what it needs
  • If you believe in Angels let them help you, when you ask they will be there for you
  • Ask for an outcome to best serve everyone involved rather than for specific results
  • Combine positive thoughts and ideas with guided action to bring what you need to life
  • Pray or talk whenever you feel the need, there is no special time or place
  • Rather than beg, thank the Universe for bringing the best situation or solution as though it already is
  • Visualize – relax, close your eyes and use your imagination. Include all of your senses, hearing, touch, feeling and smell to mentally create the situation as a complete success
  • Become aware of things going on around you, be observant of everything
  • Pay attention to your gut instinct, it is in perfect sync with the Universe
  • Signs are everywhere, look for them, they are always there to let you know you’re on the right track
  • When your inner voice directs you, take whatever steps you can, then when you’ve done everything you can, give it to the Universe/God and let life happen
  • Pay attention to clear messages or opportunities, (the woman I now rent with was the most enthusiastic person I connected with, I knew in my heart that she was sent to me)
  • Be prepared for things to move quickly. You won’t always be given a lot of time to act. It takes strength, courage, tenacity and determination to flow with the Universe

Spirituality isn’t Found Outside, All We are Searching for is Love

In The Beginning

The truth is we’re already divine beings from the day we are born. There isn’t a person, place or book that can lead us to the truth of who we are, that comes from inside of us. For centuries we’ve been made to believe that to be spiritual we have to look outside of ourselves to find the answers we seek and the support to become Godlike. From our desperate desire for love, we’ve come to believe that we need to be led to being Godly and told what and how to believe in order to reach divinity.

Spiritually Authentic

Being spiritual and loving isn’t something that you do or the practices you’re taught, it is a natural part of who we already are. Spirituality isn’t found on a special day, in a place or a person, it is in the way we live, treat ourselves and the people in our lives, our respect for nature and the way we look at our part in the world. No amount of money or the many things we do in the name of spirituality defines us, we do that instinctually, it is a God given gift that every person on this planet has.

My Story

Several years ago I began my search for what I thought was missing from my life. I had been half-way committed to my spirituality for some time, but it just wasn’t enough any more. I was seeking a way of life that exemplified kindness, love and understanding with like-minded people. I found and joined a group that I learned from and enjoyed for over a year and a half. As I grew spiritually, my needs changed, so I moved on to another group that took me to a higher way of thinking and being. I continued seeking outside of myself for what I needed and was disappointed when it fell short. So, I consciously chose to stay away from any kind of spiritual organization for a year when a friend recommended that I go sit in on a group of a privately established spiritual organization. I was hesitant, but I’d been through a lot, I was vulnerable and lost and wanted new friends, so I went and chose to stay. After over a year of involvement I began to realize that being in a group setting with limited teachings just wasn’t in line with my personal values. That was when I finally chose to go my own way. I discovered my truth and what a true spiritual life was. I finally feel the peace and happiness that we are all here to experience.

In Closing

There is nothing like spending some time with like-minded people to share our beliefs. We become more open to other ideas and ways of being, learn to be more loving, compassionate and selfless. If we choose to be involved with a group or an organization that is divinely guided, it is much richer if we come into it knowing that we don’t need any of it to be loving, wise and good.

Thank you for stopping by.

Where There is Love, Stuff Takes a Back Seat

People Instead of StuffIf you know your heart, then you know why there is a you and a me and all those of us who are on our journey to bring love and compassion to the world….

if there weren’t people who paid more attention to their stuff then caring about people then they wouldn’t need to be reminded of love and their connection to the human race…so we should feel blessed that we are carrying the message of love with our hearts outstretched to the world..
