Transitioning Your Thinking to Ageless Living (Part 1) – Your Body(free resources included)

I don’t know if I am unique, weird or just more conscious than I thought I was but my age isn’t and never has been a factor in the choices I make or the way I think, its been that way for as long as I can remember. In fact, for me celebrating a birthday isn’t about age, I celebrate my life and the accomplishments I’ve made. When I was at a crossroads in my life, I took a leap of faith and left a career that was income focused to create a life and career that is purposeful. Age was never a factor in the decision to transition, following my heart was. The level of energy I have now is much higher than I had throughout my first career. I am more creative, excited, driven and focused than I’ve ever been.

For me, this part of my life is based on a combination of living authentically, the wisdom I’ve gained and intentionality, certainly not the number of years I’ve been alive. A major factor for me is I know I was born to be a part of the transformation at a turning point in humanity. What is a major factor for you and the reason you’re on this planet? I would say a more important element than the number of years you’ve been alive.

Our bodies don’t betray us. And they needn’t deteriorate with every passing year. This is just a popular cultural belief system that is so common that when you look around, you see it everywhere. Christiane Northrup

Ageless Living – The Power to Create Our Experience of LIFE

My sister’s mother-in-law is 86, even though she has Kyphosis arthritis, she is active, lucid and smart. She lives on her own in her own home, she cleans and cooks and is socially active, does her own grocery shopping, hosts family parties and she drives. Is she an anomaly? She is aware of her age, but she doesn’t live it as if that determines her life, is what we believe and how we see ourselves the world we create? Is it possible to change by shifting the way we think and see ourselves?

Society defines growing older as becoming obsolete, ill and decrepit. My belief is that no one has to be inactive and unhealthy, rather we are at a superior point of creativity and have the freedom to live our lives as we want, living our truth. Let’s refuse to be irrelevant, as we grow older, choose to live your life agelessly, uniquely and fabulously without the predetermined mindset of how you are supposed to grow older.

Age audaciously as you live audaciously! Bruce Lipton, Developmental Biologist

Food is Not Just For the Body, it is for our SouL

While the primary intention for most people today is to eat fresh, organic whole, natural food, that just isn’t enough.

Eating is life. We are bound to food to maintain our life and it is a pleasurable part of life that forges connections between people and cultures. I love to cook and eat, but I’ve transitioned the way I connect with food from an act of self-reward to supporting my life as a physical embodiment of all that is. What we eat goes beyond diets, stressed and emotional eating, food obsessions, insecurities and embarrassments about our body. No matter the size of our body, we are first and foremost a reflection of all that is divine. When we eat we must remember to be present, relaxed, in harmony with life and be in awareness of how the food we choose to eat affects our body, feelings, mind,

View nutrition as a spiritual practice. We are charged with giving ourselves health and the ability to carry out our life purpose. Rather than giving our attention to food for all of the wrong reasons, we can remember that we are sacred beings placed on this earth to make a difference, we value and respect ourselves and choose wholesome food that helps us stay connected to the divine.

You’ll be surprised as I was when you eat mindfully. Your experience of food and eating will take on a whole new perspective. When I left dieting, scales, counting calories and carbs behind to being aware when I eat, I eat until I am content and the pleasure I experience is much more profound and I savor each bite with heightened awareness.

Over the past 10 years I’ve come to understand that eating isn’t just a function with a fork and food on a plate, it goes much deeper than that. A vital ingredient for mealtime is the spiritual context of the interconnectedness and sacredness of all things. We are much more than a human form with nutritional requirements, we are a soul wrapped in a body voyaging through life where matter and spirit unite.

DEEP, RESTFUL SLEEP A VITAL COMPONENT FOR LIVING LONGER

A vital component to a healthy and vital life is restful sleep. The lack of at least 6-8 hours of peaceful, undisturbed sleep disrupts the body’s innate balance, weakens your immune system and actually accelerates aging.

Eating the last meal of the day should happen before 7:30, I actually have my dinner before 6 to assure that my dinner meal or any food has processed and my body is completely relaxed and ready for a good night’s sleep. And the only physical activity before sleep could be an easy and relaxing walk.

If you have anything going on that may roam your mind and keep you awake, write your thoughts in a journal to get them out. Your mind must be free of whatever challenges your faced with to assure a healthy night’s sleep.

A dark room is essential to a restful night’s sleep. too much light or exposure to bright light at the wrong time can effect the body’s circadian clock. In order to assure that you have a deep, restful sleep, you should be in bed around 10 and awake by 6. If you’ve had a restful night’s sleep, you’ll feel energetic and ready for the day when you wake up, if you’ve had a poor night’s sleep you’ll feel tired and lackadaisical. Insufficient darkness throughout the night can lead to wakefulness throughout the night.

An undisturbed night’s sleep should be free of pharmaceuticals, alcohol, computers, television or any electronic devices that bring additional light to the room.

Studies have consistently shown that sleep deprivation or sleeping less than five hours a night can lead to major health problems, including high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, cancer, and ultimately an increased risk of mortality. (Everyday Health)

Fresh and essential Strategies to a strong and ABLE BODY

Scientists are learning more about our body’s functions that will surprise you. The more we know, the more we can increase our health and ignore the belief that we must become ill and diseased as we grow older. In order to care for our body, we must better understand how it operates.

Keep in mind that our body isn’t a static biological machine, it is in a constant state of change and is always renewing itself. Did you know that all of our organs communicate with each other to maintain health and keep our “well-oiled” machine running? Being run-down and doddering as we grow older is nothing more than a cultural belief and does not have to be our reality.

AGELESS LIFESTYLE PRACTICE – KNOWING OUR BODY’S FUNCTIONS

  • Avoid Disease: Avoid disease by rerouting the way you think and carefully select your lifestyle practices. Stay a step ahead of traditional aging by staying focused on having a fit, strong and flexible body. Rather than being active to reduce fat, maintain activity to avoid illness. Disease interferes with the precise way our body functions, as we learn of ways to avoid disease and work with our body’s intelligence to help support our healthy life, our body will respond with great health.
  • Fat Molecule Function: Your fat molecules are constantly sending messages through your body that it needs more to boost memory, when to stop eating and they alert our cells when disruption occurs. Do your research, learn how amazing your body is and what you can do to help it function properly.
  • Bone Structure: Fat and bone have extremely important functions, crucial in protecting our lives and the keys to overcoming modern day diseases.”As long as our bones are in optimal health, there is no manifestation of aging, our bones are both the gatekeeper and witness of aging.Dr. Gerard Karsenty
  • Your Bones – Did you know that our bones are in a constant state of natural erosion and rebuilding, keeping our bones healthy and strong, Through this process our entire skeleton is completely replaced every five years.
  • Natural Youthful State: The same cells called Osteoblasts that build and rebuild our bone structure, also keeps our body in a youthful state.
  • Nutritional Information and the Body’s Energy Balance: Leptin is a molecule in our fat cells that regulates our appetite. When we pay attention to our body’s messages we will know when we are hungry, when we should stop eating because our hunger has been satisfied. The leptin molecule travels to our brain that sends signals “enough food”, suppress appetite, when we listen to our body’s inner messages, we will eliminate the need for harmful diet medications, diets and food deprivation.
  • Inner Body Communication – Your cells eavesdrop on what your mind is saying, so it is up to you to change your self-dialogue from “I have inherited old age problems” to “I have a strong, vibrant, flexible and healthy body that serves me well each day.”

“Taking care of your body means, first and foremost, having a healthy belief system about what’s possible physically —especially as you move through time. Then you must engage in the physical activities necessary to maintain your physical self.” Dr. Christiane Northrup

Physical Activity

Several years ago, I got into a conversation with a gentleman about growing older, he told me of his uncle at 104 and his aunt, who was 102 still working their farm in Iowa, I was impressed, so I looked into a variety of physical activities other than exercise or going to a gym that we can all benefit from.

Physical activity can be housework, yard work, walking, riding a bike, swimming or skiing, Whatever physically challenging activity you choose will do. Even if it’s only a few minutes a day, doing something to move your body will be beneficial.

Aligning with Spirit is an important part of the equation of ageless living as well. Our bodies are divine expressions meant to embody our spirit. Hippocrates Health Institute

Diaphragmatic Breathing and the Benefits WHEN WE GROW OLDER

I am a diaphragmatic breather, I made the transition from shallow breathing about seven years ago while attending a meeting hosted by an experienced respiratory techniques teacher. My health has never been better; I always feel refreshed, the occasional heart palpitations I once experienced have completely vanished.

Did you know that through the process of becoming an adult we become shallow breathers? We forget how to the maintain deep, refreshing breaths that come with diaphragmatic breathing. Shallow breathing can lead to weakened muscles, stiff ribcages, poor oxygen supply and overall sluggishness preventing you from enjoying an active lifestyle. Diaphragmatic breathing slows your heart rate and lowers or stabilizes your blood pressure increases stamina, improves your mood and helps you sleep better.

How do you transition to diaphragmatic breathing from Harvard Health Publishing, Harvard Medical School:

  • Lie on your back on a flat surface (or in bed) with your knees bent. You can use a pillow under your head and your knees for support, if that’s more comfortable.
  • Place one hand on your upper chest and the other on your belly, just below your rib cage.
  • Breathe in slowly through your nose, letting the air in deeply, towards your lower belly. The hand on your chest should remain still, while the one on your belly should rise.
  • Tighten your abdominal muscles and let them fall inward as you exhale through pursed lips. The hand on your belly should move down to its original position.

You can also practice this sitting in a chair, with your knees bent and your shoulders, head, and neck relaxed. Practice for five to 10 minutes, several times a day if possible.

Change Your Idea of a Miracle and You’ll See Them Everywhere

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” ― Albert Einstein

What is a miracle to you? There is no real definition of a miracle, we each have our own understanding of what a miracle is. If you think about it, we are a miracle, nature is a miracle, life is a miracle, there are numerous miracles around us, all we have to do is be open and look.

One of My Many “Miracles” – When my career began shifting in the early 2000’s, for some unknown reason, memories of the Arizona mountains and the wide open spaces of the west began coming to the forefront of my mind. Then in early 2016 my memories turned into vivid nightly dreams, something I’d never experienced. I knew in my heart something bigger than I could imagine was taking place. A little more than a year later a window of opportunity opened to take what I call guided action. Even though the path was filled with unexpected but necessary challenges, what I consider a series of miracles took place and I am now back home in Arizona and less than 10 minutes away from those beautiful mountains.

Miracles happen all of the time, many don’t appear to be significant, but every one of them is connected with belief and concept. In 2016, after a sequence of experiences, I wanted to spend time learning to recognize miracles. What an inspirational and powerful way to experience life. I’d read an article about recognizing and listing miracles that we experience throughout our lives, I was amazed at what I discovered. Because of that exercise, I left behind a life of worrying and living in the past by turning my attention to recognizing miracles every day. No matter what challenges and hardships I’m faced with, it has become a part of my daily routine. I love the energy of that focus and retraining myself to see the gifts that life brings. While many people think of miracles as something earth shattering, most are small but meaningful and can shift our way of experiencing life.

Transforming Your Life – Miracle Awareness

One of my daily practices is an on-going dialogue I have with God that keeps me on my toes by being grateful and identifying miracles throughout my day. Those dialogues eliminate negative thoughts, feeling sorry for myself and help me to remember the many challenges that I and millions of people are faced with are all part of the intricate path we are on in what I’ve come to call the school of life. How we use that education can make a considerable difference in how our life story goes.

My belief is that miracles come in all sizes, shapes

They have a variety of ways of showing up. If you’re open and allow life to run its course and for the flow of the Universe to happen in its own way and time, miracles will be obvious to you, if you’re lost in depressive feelings, anxious or disconnected, they will go unnoticed.

Stay open to life

When you’re open and notice what’s going on around you, you’ll realize that there are no hidden meanings in events, miracles will occur in many ways and through unexpected circumstances, they are fascinating and curious. Even when things seem bleak, awareness of the magnificence around you will bring your attention to the miracles that we can experience every day.

Example: As a photographer I had spent several years on a journey learning how to compose, respect wildlife and to experience little everyday miracles. When I left the east coast, the door opened for my photography to grow in ways I could have never imagined. My first stop was Wyoming to spend time with my sister. While I was there we took a couple of trips to one of the two places where we could see wild buffalo. On one of the trips a small herd was grazing along the road. I excitedly turned on my new camera and began shooting, I was in seventh heaven. About nine months later I discovered Wildlife Photo of the Day, a division of the World Wildlife Fund and an online community that showcases the best wildlife photos. Images are submitted by thousands of photographers but I decided to take a chance anyway and submitted the photo above. A day later it was unexpectedly selected as Photo of the Day and exhibited on all of their social media sites, for me that was a miracle.

The Discovery of Miracles From Deepak Chopra:

  • Place significance on opening up even more.
  • Notice the little miracles, synchronicity and unusual events.
  • Value these anomalies for what they are—clues to a higher reality.

If you keep these steps in mind, tiny, isolated events will start to form larger patterns. Think of how you respond to music. We all hear catchy tunes, but some people go further and think, “I really feel drawn to music.” They value music as more than a passing moment of pleasure. So they take lessons and delve into how music works. The more they delve, the greater their ability grows. In the case of consciousness, there is no limit to your growth. Yet as with music, you can’t let the small beginnings slip away. That’s what the parable of the mustard seed teaches in the New Testament. Jesus points out that most seeds fall on stony ground, but a few land in the right place and grow from an invisible seed into a flourishing plant.

I see life as a gift, an opportunity to make use of the best within ourselves to make a difference in the world.

Living in a Harmonious Society, Lessons from Ancient Egypt

In ancient Egypt, the more good deeds you did, the lighter your heart became. If your heart was not light, you could not board Ra’s board and sail away into your Afterlife.  Lin Dunn, Ancient Egypt for Kids

This quote explains how ancient Egyptian’s knew that practicing selfless good deeds, living in harmony within their community and remembering that what they did and how they treated others was the ticket to a happy transition when the time came for them to leave this earth plane. While that may appear to be selfish, in truth, it was simply a way of life and a value system that was and is handed down from one generation to the next.

Today, In Cairo as well as major cities in Egypt, a large number of old Egyptian traditions remain from the time of the Pharaohs, and contrast with pure tribal customs brought in by many invaders throughout the centuries. UNESCO

How do you view the human existence?  How do you see the relationship between humanity and nature? What do you think you can do to be more in alignment and harmony with nature and your fellow-man?

I think we can all agree that we are living in very turbulent times, chaos seems to be the dominating factor everywhere we turn. From warring countries to road rage, the world seems to be at a point where it’s clear that we have to find another way to live or humanity will disappear. This is where living mindfully is successful because it’s about being thoughtful, kind, compassionate, observant and knowing that outside events and experiences are not the guideposts for your life, but living consciously within our community to create a harmonious existence is.

From everything I’ve learned over years of research and reading, if we go back in time to a wise and experienced society like the Egyptians, through a change in belief, we can implement harmony, collaboration and cooperation. While the ancients may have had an occasional war with their neighbors; within their society balance reigned. If there were any internal uprisings, they were settled with negotiation or conformity until something changed in order to maintain peace.

One major reason for their success was the common but strong belief in a wonderful life after death. It was not an absolute, it had to be earned, the belief was so strong that all levels of society conducted themselves to assure a safe passage to the afterlife.

I’m not suggesting that everyone believe in life after death, I am suggesting that if we all believed in living in harmony with nature and the balance it can bring, we would effectively be changing the way we interact with each other. Ancient Egyptians were extremely intelligent, their engineering accomplishments are far superior to those we’ve seen in the 21st century.  If they were wise and quick-witted enough to conduct a harmonious social life, settle grievances through a spirit of reciprocation and recognize the vital links between humans, nature and the divine, then so can we.

So what changes can we make?  Of course, the world wasn’t populated the way it is now when the ancients were alive, but in my way of seeing things, change happens one person at a time.  If we choose to embrace a healthy respect for nature, mindfulness and cooperation and live that wherever we go, we can eventually recreate the same kind of world the ancient Egyptians lived in.

For instance, I recently learned that one American rancher achieved more success and connection with his community by leaving commercial ranching behind to create his own compassionate, natural and humane ranch. By following his inner guidance, he inspired many other ranchers to do the same. In another instance, a gentleman who owns a small successful farm, founded a farming coop to help his community maintain their small farms rather than try to fight each other or large commercial farms. This happened because the founder was determined to continue to do what he loved and he knew the community he lived in wanted to do the same, forging social harmony and aligning with nature.

In my life, I moved into a situation where there was stress, conflict and tension between roommates. The love, compassion and balanced approach to situations I’ve brought has changed everything, one roommate even remarked that I am a miracle. We can all be and bring a miracle to effect harmony and live in tune with nature if we let go of the old way of doing things by creating harmony and peace with just our presence.

Ancient Egyptians believed the purpose of life was to nourish the seeds of the divine within us all, they revered the natural world. It is happening slowly as more and more people are coming to understand that we are all linked. People are realizing that life is better for everyone if we live more naturally and are more aware of the vital role we play in caring for nature and each other. I believe It is the only way humanity is going to survive and progress.

Perhaps the greatest lesson to be learnt from the wisdom of sacred traditions is also the
simplest; to honor creation by nurturing a kinship with nature. UNESCO

Nature has life all figured out, we just have to understand her and live in harmony with it. Thank you for reading my post, I appreciate your time.

Choose Wisely, Choose Intentionally

Choices are the hinges of destiny.” —Edwin Markham

We live most of our lives believing that we are limited or have no choice, especially in difficult situations. It doesn’t have to be that way, rather than thinking what’s the use and giving up, believe in a better future, decide a course of action by using your life experience and instincts for an outcome that you desire. Whenever I’ve been in a position that required I make a choice especially if it’s complex, I make sure that my happiness and peace of mind are the primary conditions for my final decision.

Every time you’ve had a complicated choice to make, are you choosing with your happiness and values as a priority or on another person’s perception, opinions and feelings with the expectation that you’ll have to live with an outcome that you don’t want?

That question is to prompt you to rethink your patterns;  what are your priorities in making tough decisions, are you choosing based on logic or your intuition? Many of the choices we make are complex and may take much consideration, our values and quality of life have to be a top priority if we want to be happy and fulfilled. Remember if it is to be, it’s up to you, even if it means leaving your comfort zone.

Consider the outcome when you decide with someone else’s life in mind before your own.  Are you really being selfish if you decide on behalf of what works for you?  In my opinion, no.  Making choices that are right for us means we cannot be and should not ever be responsible for someone else’s happiness.

Choosing for ourselves is a right we all deserve, especially since most of us have dealt with people who’ve tried to take our ability to choose away.  Only you know how you want your life to be, never, ever is that anyone’s decision but yours.  That is why choosing consciously and relying on your intuition are optimal ways for you to decide.

Choices have a number of possibilities whether real or imagined, ultimately the choices we make will affect our lives forever. Just think about all of the events in history that have taken place because someone made a choice to do something differently.  You cannot control the world, but you can control how you respond to situations and the choices you make to deal with them. From my own personal experience, no matter what happens outside of you, when you stay focused on making a decision based on what is right for you and you trust yourself, happiness is just a choice away.

Some questions to ask yourself and ways you can make a decision from James Van Praagh:

  1. What is important and valuable to you? What you value may not be of much import to someone else. So know what you value most.
  2. Don’t lose focus on your future. Many people tend to make choices based on life as it appears now instead of looking to the future. Does your choice and its ramifications stay within the goals that you have set for yourself for the future?
  3. Have you looked at all the alternatives and considered different scenarios? Sometimes you just might consider a different outcome.
  4. How important is this decision, and are you willing to work on it? Don’t get caught up with how important a choice is, but — better yet — what a positive impact this has on your life.
  5. Don’t forget to use your “intuition” for your choice instead of your head.

I believe we all have a purpose and path that is affected by the free will choices we make. If we make choices by paying attention to our inner guidance, how God is speaking to us and what we feel in our heart, our path will be forever changed if we just flip the switch and choose.

Learn to love you… You will make so many choices differently when you love and respect yourself. Courtney Seard,

Inner Peace = World Peace

“World peace must develop from inner peace. Peace is not just mere absence of violence. Peace is, I think, the manifestation of human compassion.” Dalai Lama

I’ve learned to achieve inner peace even when there is chaos around me simply by just being and not allowing outside problems affect my peace of mind.  This is a state of harmony everyone can achieve with practice.

Inner peace is something most of us want but don’t have or know how to achieve. I believe that when we’re inundated with the stresses of the world, work, daily life demands, kids and tight schedules, it is difficult to imagine how we can ever be at peace. Not being in a state of peace is a learned behavior, we are very capable of unlearning something at any time, especially when we truly desire change. When we make inner peace a priority instead of what is going on around us, it will change the way we see everything, our family, job, relationships, our health and state of mind and the world.

“Peace is not something you wish for, it is something you make, something you are, something you do, and something you give away.”  ― Robert Fulghum

It Starts with You

It is my belief and experience that global peace begins inside of each and every one of us.  Of course we all have busy lives; it is easy to get caught up in the routine we follow every day. Not that daily life routines aren’t important, even venerable, but the approach we take and the way we handle what takes place each day makes a huge difference. There is a distinction between approaching things unconsciously with little attention paid and doing things with intention of purpose peacefully.  The basis of inner peace is simply people willing to take responsibility for their own peace and peacefulness.

Inner peace isn’t about changing what is going on outside of you, it is about changing what’s going on inside you by managing how you are, which in turn affects others in your family, your neighborhood, your community and eventually the world.

“Inner peace begins the moment you choose not to allow another person or event to control your emotions.” – Pema Chodron

Peace Mind-Map

Inner Peace – Simply

Start with something as simple and natural as changing the way you wake up in the morning. Most people start their morning by preparing for a hectic schedule and going through a preview of the day before they even rise from bed then the turmoil begins, because that is the way things have always been done. Inner peace calls for you to stop that process and recreate it by consciously waking; as you rise in the morning, start by simply saying thank you just for being alive, then take a few long, slow deep breaths, smile and start your day as if you mean it.  Stop the daily preview chatter by slowing your mind and reminding yourself to be calm; that you are in charge not the commotion or order of the day.  I am not suggesting passivity by being indifferent and unresponsive,  but by being calm or at peace exudes tranquility and thoughtfulness.

Be truly grateful. We have a tendency to take what we are fortunate to have for granted. Start each day with appreciation for what seems ordinary: running water, electricity, the stove, clean dishes, your children, spouse, your family, your pets; you get the idea. When we begin to give thanks for what we already have no matter how simple, it brings a feeling of appreciation. Thankfulness and awareness for the good things in our lives is a good start to experiencing internal peace.

Additional Ways to Inner Peace (  )

  1. Set limits.
  2. Find a relaxation technique that work for you.
  3. Don’t make mountains out of mole hills.
  4. Slow down.
  5. Unclutter your world, unclutter your mind.
  6. Use a minimalistic workspace.
  7. Be 10 minutes early.
  8. Breathe
  9. Remember the 5 little words that’ll help you to stay sane: “one thing at a time. “

” If there’s no inner peace, people can’t give it to you. The husband can’t give it to you. Your children can’t give it to you. You have to give it to you.”  Linda Evans

Peace Improves Your Health

Achieving inner peace is the gateway to improved health.  Instead of allowing what is taking place in your life to be the master, why not make how you feel and the way you want your life to be a priority. That will put the control of you in your hands instead of the outside world.  True inner peace is the best medicine for your overall state of wellness. Did you know that when you remain upset about something that happened in the past and when you repeat the story that your body returns to a state of distress, as if it is in the actual situation again? That form of stress is dangerous to your health and the beginning point for disease.

Inner peace is our natural state of being

When we respond to what is going on in front of us instead of reacting or acting irrationally no matter what it is, is when we will know that we are capable of inner peace. Worry and anxiety never ever changes anything, in fact it stops you from making sound choices and experiencing clarity.  Inner peace helps you to develop courage, strength, resilience and an understanding that life is cyclical. Even though you’re going through a bundle of emotions, you will better be able to handle something difficult when you’re in a state of peace. Seek ways to calm yourself and improve your self-talk to help you stay on the path.  When you’re in a state of peace, self-care will be at the top of your list instead of the bottom.

Making Your Life What You Want it To Be

Self-discipline begins with the mastery of your thoughts, it you don’t control what you think, you can’t control what you do.  MoveMe Quotes

I believe we all forget whose in charge of our lives, especially when we’re in the midst of situations that overwhelm us or seem uncontrollable.  For me, it used to almost feel easier to just give up or go back to living unconsciously. But then I’d hear the voice in my heart telling me to keep trying, to make a choice, to use my wisdom and let goodness happen and I have. This is a gentle reminder that we don’t have to be unhappy or live with the belief that only some “lucky” people have a charmed and satisfying life.

Being in control of your life comes by believing in yourself and by not allowing the fear of obstacles, challenges or change stop you. Remember you have a choice and you can learn to get past the old belief that you’re not good enough to make a real contribution to the world.  Believing we’re here for a purpose can greatly reduce our suffering and the feeling of being out of control because even if we forget, we are always in the driver’s seat of the direction of our lives. This is where we can rise above the limited life we’ve allowed ourselves to live by doing something on behalf of ourselves because we know we are worth it.

I can say with confidence that you can experience the impossible and that leads you from misery to unexpected joy and peace. As with any spiritual endeavor, this way of believing is knowing that you’ll have to take steps out of your comfort zone and be okay with it. This is where we learn to power through fear, head on. Every time we experience the unknown, fear will try to sneak in to stop us and that’s okay. Don’t ignore it or try to avoid it, just don’t be swallowed up by fear. Allow yourself to be afraid and just keep reminding yourself that you can do this, take a deep breath and keep going.

Here are some ideas to consider to master your life:

  • Rely more on your “sixth” sense
  • Put your happiness and health first
  • Live in the present moment
  • Create plans that are open to change because that is how life in the control seat is
  • Be okay with living out of your comfort zone
  • Stop thinking so much, have faith in the unseen
  • Believe in the impossible
  • Create some rituals or routines for a well-balanced life
  • Nothing is set in stone, you have choices
  • Obstacles are a part of the journey for you to rise above
  • Take time for stillness or meditation, this is truly powerful step
  • Pursue meaning over pleasure, a life of meaning is why we are here
  • Be imaginative, create outside the box
  • No matter how things look, keep your eyes on the prize of a purposeful life

I’d like to end with this powerful and profound quote:

“Never say that you can’t do something, or that something seems impossible, or that something can’t be done, no matter how discouraging or harrowing it may be; human beings are limited only by what we allow ourselves to be limited by: our own minds. We are each the masters of our own reality; when we become self-aware to this: absolutely anything in the world is possible.

Master yourself, and become king of the world around you. Let no odds, chastisement, exile, doubt, fear, or ANY mental viruses prevent you from accomplishing your dreams. Never be a victim of life; be it’s conqueror.” ― Mike Norton

The Universe (the real Secret); How to Make it Work for You

No one knows something that the rest of us don’t. There are plenty of books and teachings that offer the misguided idea that there is a secret or unknown process that only they know for you to manifest everything you want from great financial gain to the perfect life mate. Every one of us has the same abilities, the real secret is to become aware of your life and then work with the Universe to make the changes that will move you forward.

The Universe/God isn’t associated with a specific religion, spiritual organization or special people, it just is and it helps us align with our path through all of our life experiences. It is available to everyone all of the time and in its divine perfection provides everything we need, no matter who we are or where we live.

Working with the Universe isn’t about forcing a situation or people nor is it about sitting and waiting for the world to come to us.  It is about being aware when the time is right, taking guided action and seizing the right opportunity when it appears. When we allow the outcome to be whatever it is, the Universe will bring the right solutions and people at the perfect time.

Have faith and believe that the Universe/God is always supporting us, things happen when we least expect them to, there is a divine time for everything. Accept your life as it is, allow the Universe/God to create the perfect situation and I promise you’ll be surprised.

I cannot count the times the Universe has surprised me. I felt stuck, I didn’t know what to do or how to move forward when everything began to happen and what I needed flowed to me exactly as it should.  My most recent experience with the miracles of the Universe happened when I wanted to move to a new location. Being mindful made it easy for me to notice the signs, the energy and the way things were going to prepare me.

How to work with the ways of the Universe to create your own magic:

  • Be appreciative for what you do have, that is the foundation for opening life’s doors for you
  • Take time to be still, your heart always knows what it needs
  • If you believe in Angels let them help you, when you ask they will be there for you
  • Ask for an outcome to best serve everyone involved rather than for specific results
  • Combine positive thoughts and ideas with guided action to bring what you need to life
  • Pray or talk whenever you feel the need, there is no special time or place
  • Rather than beg, thank the Universe for bringing the best situation or solution as though it already is
  • Visualize – relax, close your eyes and use your imagination. Include all of your senses, hearing, touch, feeling and smell to mentally create the situation as a complete success
  • Become aware of things going on around you, be observant of everything
  • Pay attention to your gut instinct, it is in perfect sync with the Universe
  • Signs are everywhere, look for them, they are always there to let you know you’re on the right track
  • When your inner voice directs you, take whatever steps you can, then when you’ve done everything you can, give it to the Universe/God and let life happen
  • Pay attention to clear messages or opportunities, (the woman I now rent with was the most enthusiastic person I connected with, I knew in my heart that she was sent to me)
  • Be prepared for things to move quickly. You won’t always be given a lot of time to act. It takes strength, courage, tenacity and determination to flow with the Universe

Spirituality isn’t Found Outside, All We are Searching for is Love

In The Beginning

The truth is we’re already divine beings from the day we are born. There isn’t a person, place or book that can lead us to the truth of who we are, that comes from inside of us. For centuries we’ve been made to believe that to be spiritual we have to look outside of ourselves to find the answers we seek and the support to become Godlike. From our desperate desire for love, we’ve come to believe that we need to be led to being Godly and told what and how to believe in order to reach divinity.

Spiritually Authentic

Being spiritual and loving isn’t something that you do or the practices you’re taught, it is a natural part of who we already are. Spirituality isn’t found on a special day, in a place or a person, it is in the way we live, treat ourselves and the people in our lives, our respect for nature and the way we look at our part in the world. No amount of money or the many things we do in the name of spirituality defines us, we do that instinctually, it is a God given gift that every person on this planet has.

My Story

Several years ago I began my search for what I thought was missing from my life. I had been half-way committed to my spirituality for some time, but it just wasn’t enough any more. I was seeking a way of life that exemplified kindness, love and understanding with like-minded people. I found and joined a group that I learned from and enjoyed for over a year and a half. As I grew spiritually, my needs changed, so I moved on to another group that took me to a higher way of thinking and being. I continued seeking outside of myself for what I needed and was disappointed when it fell short. So, I consciously chose to stay away from any kind of spiritual organization for a year when a friend recommended that I go sit in on a group of a privately established spiritual organization. I was hesitant, but I’d been through a lot, I was vulnerable and lost and wanted new friends, so I went and chose to stay. After over a year of involvement I began to realize that being in a group setting with limited teachings just wasn’t in line with my personal values. That was when I finally chose to go my own way. I discovered my truth and what a true spiritual life was. I finally feel the peace and happiness that we are all here to experience.

In Closing

There is nothing like spending some time with like-minded people to share our beliefs. We become more open to other ideas and ways of being, learn to be more loving, compassionate and selfless. If we choose to be involved with a group or an organization that is divinely guided, it is much richer if we come into it knowing that we don’t need any of it to be loving, wise and good.

Even when You’re at Rock Bottom, Remember Obstacles are Your Greatest Teacher

Whether you’re disabled, disadvantaged, live with an illness, are homeless, have had a rough past or you’re dealing with inner pain that no one can see, obstacles that seem to block your progress are really there to help you become stronger, resilient, determined, brave and connected to your version of God or your higher self. When we stand up for ourselves and rise, we inspire others to do the same.

When adversity comes at us, we feel like life is throwing complications and hardship at us to cause hardship and pain.  We want to run, we drown our sorrows in alcohol, drug addiction, food addiction, self-pity, victimization, isolation and depression. Fighting life’s challenges never changes or solves anything, accepting and dealing with them does.

I used to resist by reacting, crying, asking why me and things only got worse. When I finally paid attention and realized the way to make my life better was up to me then everything changed. Instead of seeing those difficulties as something to fear and feel helpless to overcome, I now understand that they are actually first-class teachers that serve a purpose and an opportunity to ascend to our greatest self.

  • Worry and panic do nothing but hurt you and make things worse
  • Numbing yourself only prolongs the pain and the issue
  • Pray
  • You can do this
  • You are worthy
  • You are loved
  • You are beautiful
  • You are valuable
  • You are here for a purpose
  • Be an inspiration to yourself and everyone around you by rising above whatever life brings
  • Get help if you need it
  • Lean on friends for support
  • Seek group support if that feels right for you
  • You matter
  • Your life matters
  • Who you are inside is what will propel you forward
  • Love is everywhere and everything and all that matters

Consider problems or difficulties as a crossroad with choices, so stop, take a breath and sit with it until whatever needs to be done to move forward comes. No matter what you’re faced with, you can work your way through it by adapting a different perspective so you will become better, not just for yourself but for everyone in your life.

Thank you for stopping by, namaste.

A Life without Borders

limtations-blog

One day at a time is the way I’ve been able to break the habit of putting borders around my dream, it is work, but it is so worth it because when we hit our stride and go beyond where we’ve gone before, the feeling is magical then nothing can stop you.

Rather than being focused on obstacles, our perceived limitations and who we are through the eyes of everyone around us,  we can create a visual of ourselves as powerful creators with the capacity to be whatever we want to be, but we have to work for it.  It takes determination and drive to reach higher than you have before to achieve what you were brought to this planet to do.  I know first hand because I’ve done it so I know that all of the struggles, efforts and pushing myself works and is so worth it.

The limits or restrictions we have are created in our mind and can be un-created with effort and belief in ourselves. Hesitation and doubt are just catalysts to push ourselves beyond our comfort zone and go for it.  I do and have done it most of my life not knowing that I was breaking the bonds of my limiting beliefs.  But as I look back I can see that I wouldn’t be where I am if I hadn’t taken all of those leaps.

This week I made major progress when I took a leap of faith and it paid off, the feeling of that accomplishment is life-changing for me and can be for you.  I hesitated, made excuses and doubted my abilities, but I pushed through the fear of the unknown thinking, what is the worst that can happen?, and it didn’t.  It was so much better than I thought.

That feeling alone has helped me to ascend to a new level of self-confidence and knowing that I can do anything if I just get out of my way.

Be an inspiration this week, make yourself go beyond what is easy. The effect you’ll have, not just on yourself but on the people around you, will be transformational.  So many people are held back by beliefs they’ve held all their lives, show them anything is possible by believing in and going for the impossible.

Namaste, thank you for stopping by.
