How Experiencing the Power of Being Guided by the Universe Can Change Your Life

I’ve struggled for years trying to figure out how to go with the flow of the Universe. I tried mantras, positive affirmations, all of the tips and tricks that I read about, nothing seemed to work. I finally realized that it isn’t anything outside of us that we do, but what comes from our hearts that makes the difference.  Even if all of the people, situations or events seem to be going against us, they are really for us to benefit from.

I began listening, really listening to my inner voice, taking guided action and stopping right there.  I didn’t force anything, I didn’t try to make something happen or tell myself it was all a mistake and I was doomed, I allowed whatever was supposed to happen come about on its own. It isn’t easy at all, but when we are living spiritually in the true sense, it isn’t supposed to be.  So, I improved myself by not allowing my thinking brain to try to coerce the situation in my time and the way I thought it should go. Instead, I allowed my intuition to take the lead.

If everything in our lives happens for a reason (a cliché, I know) then we are being guided to learn from each situation powerful lessons that help us become who we are meant to be.  If things become unbearable as it did for me, then the Universe is putting us on a fast track for big change and big lessons. Every idea that just popped up, I followed, I knew they were coming from a higher source.

Working with the Universe is learning to stop forcing situations to be anything other than what they are.  Then listening to what your inner voice tells you, not your thoughts but your gut instinct, it knows just what you should do next. Then we have to accept the things that take place from it, no matter how you imagine a situation going, just go with the flow.  It is a matter of being open, patient, trusting and having faith that it will all work out.

The Universe, in all of its wisdom and understanding, will take care of you in the best way possible.  I know that because I am on the other side of a situation that was put there for me to experience the beauty of having your back against a wall and the Universe coming to the rescue.

I have no idea how my life is going to unfold, but I know now that I am right where I am supposed to be and the Universe has my back.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Spirituality isn’t Found Outside, All We are Searching for is Love

In The Beginning

The truth is we’re already divine beings from the day we are born. There isn’t a person, place or book that can lead us to the truth of who we are, that comes from inside of us. For centuries we’ve been made to believe that to be spiritual we have to look outside of ourselves to find the answers we seek and the support to become Godlike. From our desperate desire for love, we’ve come to believe that we need to be led to being Godly and told what and how to believe in order to reach divinity.

Spiritually Authentic

Being spiritual and loving isn’t something that you do or the practices you’re taught, it is a natural part of who we already are. Spirituality isn’t found on a special day, in a place or a person, it is in the way we live, treat ourselves and the people in our lives, our respect for nature and the way we look at our part in the world. No amount of money or the many things we do in the name of spirituality defines us, we do that instinctually, it is a God given gift that every person on this planet has.

My Story

Several years ago I began my search for what I thought was missing from my life. I had been half-way committed to my spirituality for some time, but it just wasn’t enough any more. I was seeking a way of life that exemplified kindness, love and understanding with like-minded people. I found and joined a group that I learned from and enjoyed for over a year and a half. As I grew spiritually, my needs changed, so I moved on to another group that took me to a higher way of thinking and being. I continued seeking outside of myself for what I needed and was disappointed when it fell short. So, I consciously chose to stay away from any kind of spiritual organization for a year when a friend recommended that I go sit in on a group of a privately established spiritual organization. I was hesitant, but I’d been through a lot, I was vulnerable and lost and wanted new friends, so I went and chose to stay. After over a year of involvement I began to realize that being in a group setting with limited teachings just wasn’t in line with my personal values. That was when I finally chose to go my own way. I discovered my truth and what a true spiritual life was. I finally feel the peace and happiness that we are all here to experience.

In Closing

There is nothing like spending some time with like-minded people to share our beliefs. We become more open to other ideas and ways of being, learn to be more loving, compassionate and selfless. If we choose to be involved with a group or an organization that is divinely guided, it is much richer if we come into it knowing that we don’t need any of it to be loving, wise and good.

Bagels and Angels

The Bagels

This week I made a batch of bagels, my second go at making homemade.  I wish I had asked the angels to intervene in my attempt because I really needed their help. Everything was going well, they were beautiful, almost perfect in shape and size before I popped them in the oven.  The oven we have is a bit off so when I checked after 10 minutes, they were beginning to firm up, but the bagels were still pale.  I turned the oven up, but when I checked on them the bagels were still light in color. Then I got the idea to turn on the broiler, just for a couple of minutes.  Well, that was one minute too long, when the timer went off, I ran into the kitchen to retrieve my beautiful bagels only to see dark smoke coming out of the oven.

I was so disappointed.  I pulled open the door, the bagels were dark on top, the sesame seeds were ashes. So, I grabbed a nearby knife and began scraping.  I managed to salvage all 10 of them, but oh how I wish I had called on my angels for perfect bagels.  I know that next time, I will definitely ask them to help me produce golden, unburnt bagels.

The Angels

I believe there are Angels all around us and they can be a vital part of our lives. For me, they are a significant part of my life and spiritual practices. They are my friends, life support, inner wisdom and gentle reminders to rely on love and compassion.

Did you know angels will never interfere in your life if they are not called upon? The only time they intervene without being asked for is when you’re in a life threatening situation before your time. This isn’t something I knew all those years ago, but I am forever grateful that they are always there watching and waiting to help.

My life wouldn’t be what it is without them. Many years ago, I was transformed when I experienced an amazing angel intervention.

The Intervention

A friend and I planned a Saturday fun night at her place, we were going to have dinner, then watch a movie with lots of conversation in-between. As usual, Saturday was busy for me, so I had to keep an eye on the time so I wouldn’t be late. The drive to her home was just what I needed, it was my time to enjoy the beauty around me and unwind. When I got there, the sun was just slipping beyond the horizon, its rays were glinting off the jagged edges of the mountain range just a few miles away, it was beautiful.

When she answered the door, her two dogs greeted me with their usual enthusiasm. We worked our way to the kitchen where I made myself comfortable while she finished making dinner. By the time we finished eating and cleaned up, it was well after 8. It had been a long day for both of us so we were ready to relax.  We grabbed a soda, she put the movie in the VCR then we made ourselves comfortable. When the movie ended, as always we talked about it, then I happened to look over at the time and saw it was nearly 11 so I cut the conversation short to head for home.

I chose an easy, well-lit route where I knew the traffic would be light. The first leg of my drive was fairly uneventful.  There was little traffic around me so it was easy to notice the rather new white pick-up truck driving next to me. there was soft music playing on the radio, I was relaxed.

As I scanned the road ahead, I saw a compact blue car accelerate from the driveway it was in out into traffic. In a state of disbelief at what was happening, my heart pounding, I couldn’t comprehend what was taking place. All of sudden my headlights were reflecting on the side of the blue car that had come to stop.  One last attempt to avoid a collision I turned the steering wheel to veer the car into the next lane but the pick-up truck was there. I panicked, all I could think was I am going to die. I closed my eyes expecting a crash, it felt like the end. Then there was silence. what happened? I slowly opened my eyes not knowing what to expect. I was still in my car, the road was clear and my car was still moving forward. I couldn’t believe it, there was no crash. I was numb and confused, I couldn’t understand what had just happened. I began crying uncontrollably, I couldn’t catch my breath. I drove home and fell into my mother’s arms grateful to be alive. I realized that I had just experienced Divine intervention, I was forever changed.

Today, I intentionally live with angels around me with great comfort and peace. Angels are non-religious and present everywhere. The help they give isn’t always what we want and may even seem like they aren’t helping at all, but I’ve come to understand that they give us what we need, which is always better than what we want.

Angels are a beautiful divine presence there for us so we never feel alone, and always feel comforted and safe in their benevolent protection. When you connect with the Angels, they always speak with you. It is that tiny, faint whisper that lovingly guides you in the direction of love, compassion and kindness.

Thank you for stopping by. May you be surrounded by angels.

Even when You’re at Rock Bottom, Remember Obstacles are Your Greatest Teacher

Whether you’re disabled, disadvantaged, live with an illness, are homeless, have had a rough past or you’re dealing with inner pain that no one can see, obstacles that seem to block your progress are really there to help you become stronger, resilient, determined, brave and connected to your version of God or your higher self. When we stand up for ourselves and rise, we inspire others to do the same.

When adversity comes at us, we feel like life is throwing complications and hardship at us to cause hardship and pain.  We want to run, we drown our sorrows in alcohol, drug addiction, food addiction, self-pity, victimization, isolation and depression. Fighting life’s challenges never changes or solves anything, accepting and dealing with them does.

I used to resist by reacting, crying, asking why me and things only got worse. When I finally paid attention and realized the way to make my life better was up to me then everything changed. Instead of seeing those difficulties as something to fear and feel helpless to overcome, I now understand that they are actually first-class teachers that serve a purpose and an opportunity to ascend to our greatest self.

  • Worry and panic do nothing but hurt you and make things worse
  • Numbing yourself only prolongs the pain and the issue
  • Pray
  • You can do this
  • You are worthy
  • You are loved
  • You are beautiful
  • You are valuable
  • You are here for a purpose
  • Be an inspiration to yourself and everyone around you by rising above whatever life brings
  • Get help if you need it
  • Lean on friends for support
  • Seek group support if that feels right for you
  • You matter
  • Your life matters
  • Who you are inside is what will propel you forward
  • Love is everywhere and everything and all that matters

Consider problems or difficulties as a crossroad with choices, so stop, take a breath and sit with it until whatever needs to be done to move forward comes. No matter what you’re faced with, you can work your way through it by adapting a different perspective so you will become better, not just for yourself but for everyone in your life.

Thank you for stopping by, namaste.
